Doeng Fung is a condition caused by a certain fungal infection. The disease is feared throughout Oda, as it is extremely contagious and difficult to cure. Those who show signs of the infection are often forced into exile for fear of it becoming epidemic.
Contracting a Doeng Fung Infection
When you come in contact with Doeng Fung spores, most often by encountering the fungus in the wild or via contact with someone already infected, make a DC13 CON save.
If you fail, you contract a Doeng Fung infection. Roll on the Doeng Fung Effects table.
Whenever you Long Rest, make a DC13 CON save. If you fail, roll on the Doeng Fung Effects table.
Curing Doeng Fung Infections
Doeng Fung can be cured in a number of ways.
- A Greater Restoration spell
- Take an Urdstone based Anti-Doeng Potion.
- Starve the infection, refusing food and water until you reach the 5th level of Exhaustion.
You can remove a single (random) effect of the infection in the following ways.
- A Lesser Restoration spell
- Taking Acid Damage equal to at least half of your Max HP.
- Refuse food and water, gaining a level of exhaustion.
Effects of the Doeng Fung
- Weakness. -1 to Strength.
- Tremors. -1 to Dexterity.
- Fatigue. -1 to Constitution.
- Cognitive impairment. -1 to Intelligence.
- Memory Loss. -1 to Wisdom.
- Freakish Appearance. -1 to Charisma.
- Slow. -5’ to Move Speed.
- Fruiting Plates. You can no longer wear armor. +1 to Natural AC.
- Spore Cloud. Anytime you take damage, you release a spore cloud in a 5’ Radius. If you receive this effect multiple times, increase the radius by 5’ each time.
- Bioluminescence. You give off a dim light in a 5’ radius. If you receive this effect multiple times, increase the radius by 5’ each time.
- Infection Connection. You can detect Doeng Fung within a 30’ radius. If you receive this effect multiple times, increase the radius by 30’ each time.
- Psychedelic Aura. Creatures within a 5’ radius make skill checks at disadvantage. If you receive this effect multiple times, increase the radius by 5’ each time.
